Baby Boy Can't Wait For Hospital, Born On Fullerton Roadside

FULLERTON (CBSLA.com) — It was a wild ride for one mother Tuesday after her baby boy, who just couldn't wait to come into the world, was born on the side of the road on her way to the hospital.

The child's father was taking his wife to St. Jude Medical Center around 11:50 p.m. when he pulled over near the intersection of West Bastenchury Road and North Euclid Street in Fullerton, about six blocks from the hospital.

He called 911 for help, but his son ended up making his debut before paramedics arrived.

"She was feeling like she was having the contractions close together so we were rushing to St. Jude's," father Brad Sanchez said. "She's like, 'It's coming, it's coming' so I pulled over, called 911 . . . and he came out!"

Police officers, who were first to arrive on the scene, helped walk Sanchez through the delivery.

Both mom and baby eventually made it to the hospital to be evaluated. They are happy and healthy, officials said.

The little boy was the second child for the La Habra couple.
