Azusa Police Nab 32-Year-Old Stabbing Suspect

AZUSA (CBSLA.com)   —  Azusa Police have arrested a 32-year-old man for a Saturday night stabbing.

Authorities were dispatched about 11:30 p.m. to an apartment complex at 260 E. Newburgh Street.

Officers found the victim -- a 35-year-old man -- laying on a balcony, suffering from a stab wound.

As paramedics treated the victim, officers learned from witnesses that the man who had allegedly done the stabbing, was inside apartment 29.

Officers said the 32-year-old suspect, now identified as Vincente Mariano Fernandez, stood in the doorway, and began yelling at the officers in an aggressive manner.

The responding officers arrested Fernandez and charged him with assault with a deadly weapon. Fernandez was transported to the Azusa Police Department's station for booking and processing.

The victim was transported to a local trauma center. His condition was not revealed.
