Massive Fire Blazes Through Wilmington Auto Body Shop

WILMINGTON (CBSLA) - A massive fire burned through an apparent scrap yard outside of an auto parts business in Wilmington Sunday afternoon.

Los Angeles County Fire responded to reports of a fire just after 3:20 p.m. at Tito's Auto Dismantling & Auto shop East I Street.

According to authorities, fire crews conducted an offensive attack against the fire to keep the fire from spreading to adjacent properties.

The area was densely packed with automobiles, making access and water penetration difficult.

As of 4:16 p.m., firefighters reportedly had the fire under control but were still working on fully extinguishing it.

No injuries were reported.
