Woman Surrenders In Pasadena At End Of Police Pursuit

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A female driver was arrested Wednesday after a high-speed pursuit that started in the South Los Angeles area.

The chase began shortly after noon and started along the northbound 405 Freeway just north of the 55 Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol.

Officers tried to stop the vehicle in the Westminster area after receiving a report that the woman was driving erratically, according to the CHP.

The SUV then passed through the downtown Los Angeles area and on surface streets in Pasadena, occasionally stopping for red lights but still refusing to pull over for officers following her.

Police performed a PIT maneuver around 1:15 p.m. and brought the SUV to a stop in Pasadena just south of Colorado Boulevard.

The woman was then taken into custody. Her name was not immediately released.
