Search Continues To Locate Attempted Kidnapping Suspect Near CSUN

NORTHRIDGE (CBSLA.com) — Officials Wednesday continued to search for a man who attempted to kidnap a Cal State University Northridge student.

The incident unfolded around 3:40 p.m. Tuesday along Dearborn Street, according to police.

A preliminary investigation revealed the suspect bear-hugged a female student from behind as she walked near a Subway restaurant.

According to police, the suspect told the victim he would kill her if she kept screaming.

The student fought back until she was able to escape.

Detectives described the suspect as a Caucasian man who has short black hair and a tattoo on his right arm that appears to spell a name.

He is believed to be between the ages of 25 to 30 years old and stands round 6-foot-5 tall.

Campus police said the victim reported seeing the man on campus Monday at the Oviatt Library.

The investigation is ongoing.
