Knife-Wielding Man Shot By Security Guard Outside US Federal Courthouse
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) — A suspect allegedly armed with a knife was shot by a security guard outside of the U.S. Federal Courthouse Tuesday.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at 2:14 p.m. at 350 West 1st St. in downtown Los Angeles.
According to LAPD officials, courthouse security officers reportedly encountered a man armed with a knife.
The male suspect said to be 25-years-old was reported to be conscious and breathing after suffering a gunshot wound to the hand.
The suspect was taken to a hospital for treatment.
First Street was closed between Broadway and Hill Street following the shooting as an investigation took place.
The FBI and U.S. Marshals Service were investigating the shooting.
