At Least 1 Dead After Car Slams Into Taco Stand In Boyle Heights

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com)  —   At least one person was killed Sunday evening when a car slammed into a taco stand in Boyle Heights.

The age and gender of the victim was not released.

It was also unclear if the victim was the driver or a pedestrian.

The accident occurred at South Clarence Street and 4th Street just before 9:30 p.m., officials said.

Authorities confirmed one fatality.

City News Service reported eight people were injured.

CBS2's Jennifer Kastner reported from the scene that the LAFD  told her that including the deceased "ten people were involved."

She said three people transported to the hospital and two of them remain in critical condition. Six people were treated on scene and declined to go to a hospital.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
