Arson Blamed For Blaze That Destroyed Cars In Mission Viejo

MISSION VIEJO (AP) — Authorities in Orange County are searching for an arson suspect who sparked a fire behind a strip mall in Mission Viejo that charred two cars, several trees and a half-acre of grass.

Fire Authority Captain Steve Concialdi says crews were able to knock down the flames late Tuesday before they raced up a hill toward Capistrano Valley High School.

No injuries were reported and no buildings were damaged.

A Lexus and a Ford were destroyed.

Concialdi says investigators have determined the fire was intentionally set.
