Arroyo H.S. Student, 16, Arrested In Online Threat Against 2 Teachers

EL MONTE (CBSLA.com) — A 16-year-old Arroyo High School student was arrested after police discovered a threat they say was made against two faculty members on Twitter, El Monte police said Friday.

School officials said they learned that the student identified only as a Latino in the 11th grade posted a threat Thursday morning around 9:40 a.m. while he was in class.

Police said the unspecified threat named two Arroyo High teachers as his intended targets.

School faculty immediately notified the school's resource officer who conducted an investigation and subsequently arrested the student.

 Neither of the teachers named in the threat was injured.

The investigation is continuing.
