Arrest Warrant Issued For Rapper Tyga

SANTA MONICA (CBSLA.com) — An arrest warrant was issued Tuesday for rapper Tyga for failing to appear at a court hearing in Santa Monica over unpaid rent and damages to a Malibu home.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Nancy Newman issued the warrant when Tyga, 26, was a no-show at the hearing.

The rapper's landlord, Gholamreza Rezai, went to court in 2012 claiming that Tyga missed a rent payment, skipped out on his lease and left the home in need of repairs. Earlier this year, the judge approved a roughly $480,000 judgment against the rapper, which has not been paid.

Tyga, who has been dating Kylie Jenner, was ordered to appear in court Tuesday to discuss his finances and his failure to pay the judgment.

In court, the landlord's attorney noted that media outlets recently reported Tyga bought his girlfriend a $200,000 car for her birthday, according to TMZ.
