Arrest Made In Crash That Left LAPD Officer Critically Injured

SUN VALLEY (CBSLA.com) — An arrest has been made in connection with a traffic collision in Sun Valley that critically injured a LAPD motorcycle officer.

The suspected driver was identified as Qaneak Cobb, 33, of North Hollywood.

Police said Cobb was arrested about 6:10 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs. Her bail amount was set at $185,000.

The crash happened about 5:30 p.m. Saturday near the intersection of Lankershim Boulevard and Saticoy Street.

The officer, a 26-year-veteran of the department, was in "stable but critical condition" Saturday evening, according to LAPD spokesperson Officer Rosario Herrera.

No further information was available.
