Arrest Made In Connection With Fatal Stabbing Of Mother Of 3 In Van Nuys

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say they have made an arrest in connection with a fatal stabbing in Van Nuys but plan to release more details Friday.

The Los Angeles Police Department said in a written statement that officers responded to Kester and Le May avenues about 7:50 a.m. Tuesday after receiving a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon.

When officers arrived, they found two stabbing victims.

Police said the female victim who died was found in the passenger seat of a parked pickup while a male victim was found next to the truck. She was identified by authorities as Klaudia Alas, a mother of three.

The statement said a male victim was also located near the vehicle. He was taken to a hospital and was expected to survive.

No further details were provided, but a 2 p.m. news conference was scheduled for Friday.
