Armed Bandit Robs Armored Truck In Granada Hills

GRANADA HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A robber is on the run after making off with a bag of cash from a Brinks armored truck in Granada Hills Tuesday.

The heist happened at about 11 a.m. after the messenger got out of the truck to make a delivery at the CVS store at Chatsworth Street and Zelzah Avenue.

Police said a man with a gun approached the Brinks employee and demanded a bag of money and his gun. The messenger complied. The thief took off with the cash and the weapon.

The messenger quickly jumped back into the Brinks truck. He and the driver chased after the robber but could not keep up.

Police said the bandit was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and jeans. His face was covered with a piece of cloth or bandana.
