Police arrest 2 suspects who robbed home in Beverly Hills
Authorities announced on Wednesday that two suspects were arrested in connection with a robbery at a Beverly Hills home.
The robbery was reported at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday in the 700 block of North Camden Drive, Beverly Hills police reported.
The suspects forced their way into the home and stole personal items from the victims inside, police said. No one was hurt.
A 42-year-old Lancaster man, identified as Anthony Chavez Avila, was arrested Tuesday afternoon after a traffic stop, according to BHPD. A second man, 34-year-old Charles Daniel Chiodo was arrested on Wednesday by BHPD detectives and SWAT units at his residence in Sylmar. Police said they also recovered evidence connecting Chiodo to the robbery.
Lt. Giovanni Trejo, the Beverly Hills Police Department's Public Information officer, said detectives "are confident all suspects involved in the Camden robbery will be arrested in the near future."
Last week, three suspects were arrested for assaulting and robbing a man on a street in Beverly Hills.
Beverly Hills police report that the city has seen a rise in violent crimes over the past three years. The city has installed more than 2,000 surveillance cameras in an effort to curb the crime spike.
