Armed Suspect Sought In Pasadena For Evading Officers

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Detectives searched for an armed suspect Sunday that fled from officers after being pulled over.

According to the Pasadena Police Department, officers attempted to contact a male driver of a dark colored SUV around 3:15 a.m. for a traffic violation in the area of Estado Street and Avocado Lane.

Police explained the driver was armed with a handgun, and nearly struck an officer as he sped away from the scene.

Authorities pursued the suspect for a short distance, but lost sight of his vehicle near Sierra Madre Boulevard and the 210 Freeway.

According to police, at least one shot was fired by officers, however, it was unknown whether the suspect was struck.

No officers or residents were injured during the incident.
