Armed Suspect Arrested After Pasadena Apartment Complex Standoff

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — SWAT officers Monday arrested an armed suspect who barricaded himself inside a Pasadena apartment complex.

Police were investigating a robbery in South Pasadena when the suspect entered the apartment complex at 70 N. Harkness Avenue just before 8 a.m., officials said.

SWAT officers arrived and surrounded the building. Residents were evacuated.

He later surrendered around 11:45 a.m. after he spoke to his mother, police said.

Traffic was restricted on Harness Avenue between Colorado Blvd. on the south and Walnut Street on the north.
