Armed Suspect Accused Of Robbing Arcadia Restaurant Sought By Detectives

ARCADIA (CBSLA.com) — Police sought the public's help Sunday in locating a man accused of robbing a restaurant.

According to the Arcadia Police Department, officers were sent shortly after midnight to Carmines Italian Restaurant, located in the 300 block of East Live Oak Avenue, for report of a robbery.

Detectives explained a preliminary investigation revealed a suspect — described as a black man in his mid 20s — allegedly approached two employees who exited the back of the restaurant to throw trash away.

Officials went on to explain the suspect pointed a chrome-colored, semi-automatic handgun in their direction, and forced both employees back into the restaurant.

Once inside, he demanded all of the money from the restaurant's safe. Authorities believe about $6,000 was stolen.

The store manager explained to officers a bag was filled and given to the suspect, who then exited through a rear door and fled in a vehicle — only described as being dark in color — that was parked on Third Avenue.

It remains unclear if there was an additional suspect waiting in the vehicle, or if the man drove himself away from the scene.

Officers said the restaurant was closed when the armed robbery took place. No injuries were reported.

Detectives described the suspect as a man who stands 5-foot-10 tall and weighs 170 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark colored hoodie, and had a bandana covering his nose and mouth.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Arcadia Police Department at (626) 574-5150.
