Armed Robber Steals 2 Pricey Puppies, Cash From Pico Rivera Pet Store

PICO RIVERA (CBSLA.com)  —   Authorities said an armed robber stole two English bulldog puppies and cash from a Pico Rivera pet store.

The robber rolled up to Mr. Bulldogs (9432 Whittier Blvd.) about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday in a BMW.

Officials said the robber demanded cash and threatened to shoot the puppies unless they were handed over, according to the sheriff's department and store manager Miriam Guillen.

The store's owners expressed concern about the puppies' safety with the robber. They were being fed goat milk three times a day.

The puppies are priced at nearly $2,500 each, the store owners said.

The suspect wore a bandana over his face.

This was the fourth time in six years the store has been robbed, authorities said.
