Armed Domestic Violence Suspect Killed In Officer-Involved Shooting

SOUTH LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – A domestic violence suspect was fatally shot by police Monday in Vermont Knolls, officials said.

The shooting happened shortly before 2:30 a.m. in the 1100 block of West 81st Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Officials received a call from a woman who stated that she had been shot by a man who was armed with a gun.

When police arrived on scene, the suspect fired several shots at officers who returned fire and fatally wounded him.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

No officers were injured.

The woman, who was believed to be the suspect's wife, was transported to a local hospital in unknown condition for surgery.
