Aquarium Of The Pacific Announces Births Of 2 Magellanic Penguins

LONG BEACH (CBSLA.com) — The Aquarium of the Pacific Tuesday announced the births of two Magellanic penguins.

One chick, born to first-time parents Patsy and Noodles, is less than a week old. The other, a two-week-old chick, was born to first-time parents Kate and Avery.

The penguins are being cared for by their parents in the June Keyes Habitat, but will be viewable to the public when they join other birds in the sanctuary later this summer.

Magellanic penguins are native to the coasts of Argentina and Chile.

The chicks are expected to leave their nests for the main area of the habitat in late August or early September.
