Angels Pitcher Luis Pena Suspended 50 Games

NEW YORK (AP) -- Los Angeles Angels pitcher Luis Pena has been suspended 50 games following a positive test under baseball's minor league drug program.

The commissioner's office said Wednesday the 18-year-old right-hander tested positive for metabolites of Boldenone. He signed in October and is on the roster of the Angels' Dominican Summer League team.

Eighteen players have been suspended this year under the minor league program, and New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez was suspended for the season under the major league program.
