Angels Pick Up Outfielder Daniel Robertson From Rangers

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The Texas Rangers have traded outfielder Daniel Robertson to the Los Angeles Angels for a player to be named or cash.

The deal was announced Thursday.

The 29-year-old Robertson made his major league debut last season and hit .271 with 21 RBIs in 70 games with Texas. He also was a solid defensive player in the outfield.

Robertson began the season in the minors with San Diego, and was acquired by the Rangers in late April.

Robertson is from Fontana, and spent parts of the past three seasons in the Pacific Coast League.

The Angels designated outfielder Alfredo Marte for assignment to make room for Robertson on their 40-man roster.
