Angels' Hamilton Filed For Divorce At Same Time As His Relapse Went Public

ANAHEIM, Calif. (CBSLA.com) - As he continues to recover from off season shoulder surgery, slugger Josh Hamilton may never play again for the Angels.

Several reports indicate the club is looking into a buyout of his remaining contract ($83M), possibly voiding the final two seasons, or trading him to another team.

Then news reports, Saturday, say that around the same time Hamilton revealed his drug and alcohol relapse to the club in February, he filed for divorce from his wife Katie in Texas, according to court documents in Texas.

Although their home Newport was put up for sale on Friday, Katie Hamilton appears to commit to appear in the TV show, "The real housewives of Orange County."

Hamilton's twitter page includes the description,"Husband to Katie."

Teammates say he is recovered from his shoulder surgery and is ready to play.
