Angels Designate Left-Hander LeBlanc For Assignment, Call Up Righty Grube

OAKLAND, Calif. (CBSLA.com/AP) — The Los Angeles Angels designed left-hander Wade LeBlanc for assignment and called up right-hander Jarrett Grube from Triple-A Salt Lake.

The Angels made the move before Saturday night's game at Oakland. In his only appearance this year, LeBlanc allowed four runs and five hits in 6 1-3 innings of relief in the Angels' 9-5 loss to the Athletics on Friday night.

LeBlanc pitched for Houston in 2013, where he had a 7.11 ERA, and in Miami before that, where he went 1-5, with a 5.18 ERA.

Grube has a 3.52 ERA in 11 starts for Salt Lake this season. The 32-year-old was drafted in the 10th round by Colorado in 2004 but has never played in the majors.
