Angels Call Up RP Josh Wall, Option Lefty Jose Alvarez To Salt Lake
DETROIT (AP) -- The Los Angeles Angels have recalled right-hander Josh Wall from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned left-hander Jose Alvarez to Salt Lake.
The Angels made the moves before Friday night's game at Detroit, meaning Alvarez would not have a chance to pitch against his former team. The Tigers traded Alvarez to the Angels before the season for shortstop Andrew Romine.
Romine is in the starting lineup for Detroit on Friday.
Angels infielder David Freese is not starting because of tightness in his right quad.
