Police Standoff With Possibly Armed Suspect Ends In Anaheim Hills

ANAHEIM HILLS (CBSLA.com) — A suspect involved in a neighbor dispute surrendered Friday after a standoff with police in Anaheim Hills.

Anaheim police received a call at 8 a.m. from a woman who said her male neighbor threatened her with a gun at their apartment complex in the 5600 block of E. Orangethorpe Avenue, according to officials.

The woman reportedly complained to the neighbor he was making too much noise in the stairwell, and he allegedly confronted her with a rifle.

When officers arrived, they were able to see the suspect on his balcony with another man, who police believe may be a relative but was not considered a hostage, authorities said.

The suspect surrendered without incident sometime before 2 p.m. along with the other man.

Authorities said that ammunition was found, yet no gun or rifle was recovered from the scene.

No evacuations were ordered and no injuries reported.
