Amber Alert For Siblings Abducted From New Mexico Canceled After Mom Turns Herself In
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — Authorities in California issued an Amber Alert for three siblings they say were abducted from New Mexico Sunday morning.
The alert was issued for 9-year-old Lloyd Wyatt, 8-year-old Lakai Wyatt, and 6-year-old Lexington Wyatt.
Late Sunday, officials said the alleged abductor -- the child's mother -- turned herself in. The children were also found safe, officials told CBS2's Laurie Perez.
The children were believed to be abducted from Albuquerque around 12:30 p.m.
Authorities issued the alert for the following counties: San Bernardino, San Diego, Riverside, Orange, and Los Angeles.
The children were believed to be traveling in a 2009 silver Kia Spectra with New Mexico license plate #AAYR80.
The suspect has been identified by authorities as 28-year-old Laria R. Walker-Anderson. She is the children's mother.
Around 5 p.m. Sunday, the La Verne Police Department received a call from a resident who believed he was parked behind the suspect's vehicle.
The car was parked on Ramona Avenue and Foothill Boulevard and unoccupied, police said.
It was unclear what led to the mom surrendering to authorities.
