Baby found safe after alleged abduction by father in LA County triggered Amber Alert

The California Highway Patrol issued an Amber Alert for a baby after his father allegedly abducted him in Los Angeles County on Sunday.

Police deactivated the Amber Alert later on Sunday night after they located the baby. Arizona police found the child and arrested at least one person about 500 miles away from where he was abducted. 

Investigators said Enzo Antonescu, 1, and his father Dragan Antonesco, 20, were last seen at noon on Sept. 7 near Colima Road in the city of Industry, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which requested the Amber Alert.

Deputies said Antonesco allegedly held the mother at knifepoint while two apparent accomplices, Viorel, 48, and Mariora Ilie, 40, assaulted the mother and took the baby. 

Police believe the father and son were traveling in a 2011 Toyota Sienna with the license plate 9SLF463. CHP

Police believe they are traveling in a black 2011 Toyota Sienna. 

CHP officers said Antonesco is 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a black shirt and black pants. His baby Enzo Antonescu is about 22 pounds with short brown hair and green eyes. 

Police also released photos of the Antonescos' two alleged accomplices. 

Viorel and Mariora Ilie allegedly assaulted the victim and took the baby away while Dragan Antonesco held the victim at knifepoint.  LASD
