Abducted Vallejo Teen Girl Found Safe, Amber Alert Canceled
LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) –A 15-year-old girl who was allegedly abducted in Santa Rosa -- and at one point was believed to possibly be in Southern California -- has been found safe.
Santa Rosa police reported a little after 10 a.m. Thursday that 15-year-old Georgiana Bambaloi has been found and is back home safe in Vallejo.
Police initially reported that she had been abducted at around 1:40 p.m. Wednesday from a gas station in Santa Rosa. California Highway Patrol then issued an Amber Alert.
It's unclear if the suspect, who was identified as 20-year-old Ionita Cimino, was in custody.
At one point, the two were believed to be in Los Angeles, Orange, San Diego or Riverside Counties, California Highway Patrol said. There was no word on where Bambaloi was found.
During the Amber Alert, the two were believed to be traveling in a green 2007 Chrysler Town and Country minivan with Texas license plate No. 12478U3.
Cimino is described as 5-foot-7 with brown hair and eyes.
