VENICE (CBSLA.com) — Fans of CBS' "The Amazing Race" were in for a treat Monday as the show kicked off it's 27th trip around the world along the Venice boardwalk.

More than 1,000 of the show's fans were on hand to cheer on the contestants at the Venice graffiti art wall, where host Phil Keogan sent the teams off on their way shortly after 8 a.m.

Eleven teams will compete for the $1 million prize during a three-week jaunt across the globe, which kicked off with the first challenge: a water bike race in Marina del Rey.

You can watch the "Amazing Race" season premiere on Sept. 25 on CBS2.
