Investigators search for alleged suspects who fatally shot teen in Hawthorne, injured man

Investigators are searching for the alleged suspects who fatally shot a 16-year-old and injured a man in Hawthorne early Friday morning.

Hawthorne police responded to the 4200 block of W. Broadway Street around 12:27 a.m. for a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy and a 32-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds, Hawthorne police said. They were both taken to nearby hospitals.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is assisting with the investigation, said the teen later died at the hospital. 

According to preliminary information, the sheriff's department said the teen and man were walking in the alley when they were approached by two men. The men fired shots and fled the scene on foot.
