Alleged Drunken Driver Hits Jogger Along Rose Parade Route

PASADENA (AP) Pasadena authorities say a woman jogging with a group along the Rose Parade route before dawn was hit by a car piloted by an alleged drunken driver, who fled but was arrested several blocks away.

Police Lt. Kelly Evans says the crash happened around 5:30 a.m. Friday along a stretch of Colorado Boulevard closed to vehicle traffic for the parade.

The victim was hospitalized in serious condition with head injuries.

The driver of the car, 40-year-old Yuki Horne of Los Angeles was arrested on suspicion of felony drunken driving. It wasn't immediately known if Horne has an attorney.

City News Service reports the victim had been jogging with a group called Godfather Sean's Rose Parade Run, which has run the parade route annually for 14 years.
