Alleged Camarillo Bank Robber Surrenders In Las Vegas
CAMARILLO (CBSLA.com) — Authorities have arrested a man who allegedly robbed a bank in Camarillo on April 8.
Officials said Colin Taylor Volpe, 32, held up a JP Morgan Chase Bank located in the 2100 block of East Ponderosa Drive about 2:10 p.m.
Volpe reportedly surrendered to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police detectives in connection with the crime four days later.
Volpe -- described as a transient -- was held without bail at the Clark County Detention Center in Las Vegas on a charge of being a fugitive from another state.
On April 12, Ventura County Sheriff's Major Crimes investigators interviewed Volpe and allegedly obtained his confession to the bank robbery.
Officials said the confession, in concert with physical evidence in the case, resulted in the issuance of a warrant for Volpe's arrest.
Authorities said the suspect waived extradition from Nevada and arrangements were made to transport him back to Ventura County.
Volpe was transported to the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility today where he was booked on a charge of bank robbery. His bail was set at $100,000.
