Alleged Burglar Killed After Struggle With San Bernardino Police

SAN BERNARDINO (CBSLA.com) — An alleged motel burglar was killed Friday morning after a struggle with police in the Inland Empire.

The shooting happened shortly after 2 a.m. in 600 block of West 6h Street, police said.

An officer responded to the motel for a forced entry call after the unidentified male suspect attempted to break into one of the guest rooms.

The officer confronted the suspect and a fight ensued. The officer tried to use his Taser on the man, but it was not effective, authorities said.

Soon after, two additional officers arrived at the motel and got involved in the struggle.

One of the officers shot the suspect after the man managed to take one of their Tasers and tried to use it on police.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
