Brush Fire Scorches 1,400 Acres In Agua Dulce Area

AGUA DULCE (CBSLA) - A fast-moving brush fire Monday threatened structures in the Agua Dulce area, officials said.

The Stone Fire started about 12:30 p.m. near the 35100 block of Anthony Road, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokesperson.

By 8 p.m., the fire had burned about 1,400 acres with 30 percent containment, fire officials said. One firefighter reportedly suffered minor injuries, and no structures were damaged or destroyed.

Firefighters kept flames from racing through dry brush and down hillsides into populated areas near Aqua Dulce.

Several fixed-wing aircraft were deployed, along with roughly 350 personnel on scene.

Evacuations order were lifted about 8 p.m., though Anthony Road at Sierra Highway will remain closed.
