Adoptions Underway For Nearly 200 Dogs Recovered From Puppy Mill

DEVORE (CBSLA.com) — Nearly 200 dogs rescued from an alleged puppy mill in Lucerne Valley earlier this month could find themselves in a new home starting Monday.

The 191 dogs, who were found abandoned and suffering from neglect, were taken in at the San Bernardino County Animal Shelter Feb. 6.

On Saturday, they were transported from the Devore shelter to neighboring shelters in Upland, Rancho Cucamonga and Pomona in order to accommodate them for spay and neuter procedures, officials said.

The owner of the dogs, ranging from Cocker Spaniels and bulldogs to Labradors and poodles, has not been identified. For a full list of the breeds, click here.

Anyone interested in adopting a pup was asked to contact San Bernardino County Animal Care and Control at (909)386-9820 or visit their website to see photographs of the animals awaiting adoption.
