Acting Coach Sentenced To Prison For Sexually Assaulting 13-Year-Old Girl

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) — A well-known acting coach was sentenced to prison Wednesday for committing lewd acts on a 13-year-old girl seven years ago.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, Cameron Thor, 56, has been ordered to spend six years in state prison and to register as a sex offender.

In August, jurors found Thor guilty of one count of lewd act upon a child and the special allegation of substantial sexual contact was found to be true.

The victim took private classes from Thor at his Agoura Hills home. In March 2009, Thor drove the girl, then 13, to the Santa Monica Mountains where he sexually assaulted her, according to Deputy District Attorney Simone Shay.

Thor was later arrested in 2014.

As an actor, Thor appeared in many films and TV shows including "A Few Good Men," "Jurassic Park," "Hook," and "Star Trek: The Next Generation."

The case was investigated by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Special Victims Bureau.
