AAA Mechanic Fatally Stabbed While Aiding Motorist In Pico Rivera

PICO RIVERA (CBSLA.com) — A driver with the American Automobile Association was stabbed to death Tuesday night in Pico Rivera.

He was out assisting a motorist in front of her home in the 8400 block of Buhman Avenue, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

While they were talking, an unknown man appeared. It's not clear why but he stabbed the victim in the neck.

The mechanic ran from the suspect, who fled the scene on a bicycle.

Deputies have no details about the suspect at this time.

When deputies arrived, the victim was lying near a front door several houses away. He was bleeding profusely.

Paramedics pronounced the victim dead the scene.

Authorities are searching the area for a suspect.
