9-Year-Old Boy Hit By Van, Killed While Riding Bike In Irvine

IRVINE (CBSLA.com)  —  The Irvine Police Department says a 9-year-old boy was killed Friday afternoon while riding his bike.

The unidentified boy was struck by a van around 3:05 p.m., police said.

The accident occurred at the intersection of Roosevelt and Bay Tree.

The van's 57-year-old male driver remained at the scene.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The victim was taken to a hospital, where authorities said he succumbed to his injuries around 3:35 p.m.
