89th Annual Americafest Touts Biggest Fireworks Show West Of Mississippi

PASADENA (CBSLA.com) — Organizers, pyrotechnicians and thousands of pounds of explosives are ready to go at the Rose Bowl for the largest Fourth of July fireworks show west of the Mississippi River.

Americafest, emceed this year by CBS2 Sports Director Jim Hill and morning news anchor Sharon Tay, brings together live music, entertainment, food, crafts and inflatable rides for the kids for the 89th year in Pasadena this Saturday.

This year's Americafest celebrates the 50th anniversary of The Beatles meeting Elvis in Los Angeles with performances by the Grammy-nominated Liverpool Legends, a Beatles tribute band organized by George Harrison's sister, and Elvis impersonator Brandon Bennet from the Tony Award-winning musical "Million Dollar Quartet."

Grammy-nominated singer Christian Milian will also perform.

Tickets can be purchased from Ticketmaster, and active military with a valid military ID get free admission.
