82-Year-Old Woman Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash In Pomona

POMONA (CBSLA.com) —  An 82-year-old passenger was killed Sunday when the Kia Soul she was riding in was hit by a van.

The Kia's driver also sustained minor injuries. The van's driver was not hurt.

Authorities reponded to the intersection of Towne Avenue and Foothill Boulevard on Sunday just after 12:40 p.m.

Police said the 2010 Soul was making a left turn from Towne onto westbound Foothill when it struck by a 1998 Ford Econoline.

Officials said both vehicles sustained major damage.

The deceased was described as a Latina. She died at Pomona Valley Hospital. Her name was withheld until her next of kin could be notified.

Authorities do not believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.

The Kia's driver was driving on a suspended California license (for a DUI). That license was suspended in 2000.

Anyone with information about the collision was asked to call (909) 620-2081.
