Neighbors told CBS2's Joy Benedict they had heard as many as 15 shots fired.

The shots prompted the teens to scramble for safety. In doing so, they damaged several fences in the area, and caused the roof of a shed to collapse.

"There were two sets [of shots fired]. The first set were maybe like three [shots] and then we heard maybe four or five more," said Leslie Reid, a neighbor.

Although the identities of the victims were not released, reports indicated that they were juveniles. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, deputies said.

Neighbors also told Benedict that more than 50 teens, ranging in age from 16 to 19, had gathered in the backyard of the apparently unoccupied home for the party. According to Benedict, the home in question had a visible "Notice to Vacate." It's not known if the teens were acquainted with the previous owners or broke into the home.

About 45 minutes before the shootings unfolded, police responded to the home following noise complaints.

Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department told Benedict that officers did disperse the party at that time but believe the shooting unfolded as partygoers were leaving.

No arrests have been made.
