$600K Powerball Tickets Sold In Simi Valley, San Diego

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) Two Californians are nearly $645,000 richer Sunday morning.

Two tickets matched five of six numbers in Saturday's Powerball drawing. The owner of each ticket has scored $644,506 each

One ticket was sold in Simi Valley (Simi Valley Smoke Shop, 2902 Cochran Street) and the other in San Diego (T&M Liquor, 4245 El Cajon Boulevard.)

Both tickets matched the numbers 2-3-13-16 and 35. They both failed to have the Powerball number -- 27. Had the owners matched the Powerball number, they would have split the $167 million jackpot.

The jackpot climbs to $185 million for Wednesday's draw.

The Powerball game is played in 44 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Powerball starts at $40 million and climbs every time there is no winner. The record jackpot reached $590 million in May 2013.
