5th Annual Surf Dog Championship To Be Held At Huntington Beach State Park

HUNTINGTON BEACH (CBSLA.com)  —   The 5th Annual "Most Incredible Surf Dog" competition comes to Huntington Beach State Park Friday.

The event, open to the public, starts at 9 a.m.  Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. Competition begins at 9:30 a.m.

Dogs of all shapes, sizes, abilities (and no doubt temperaments) will take part in the competition to find the best surfing pooch.

The canine contestants will be also judged on diving, fetching, agility, diving, Frisbee catching and a Jack Russell hurdle racing practice.

The event -- officially named the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge Western Regional -- continues through Saturday.

At stake, the title of "Most Incredible Surf Dog."
