56 Arrested During Highland Gang Sweep

HIGHLAND (AP) — San Bernardino County sheriff's officials say 56 people were arrested during a recent gang sweep in Highland.

The department says the action Friday was an effort to identify and document gang members and prospects and curb gang-related crime in the city.

Officials say numerous felony charges are being sought against several of those arrested. Among the charges being pursued are drug possession, drug sales and possession of stolen property.

Five stolen vehicles were also seized during the sweep.

The names of those arrested were not released.
