51-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Oxnard Crash

OXNARD (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a 51-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Oxnard late Friday evening.

Police say the motorcyclist was traveling westbound on his Harley Davidson on Esplanade Drive when he was struck by a Toyota Camry.

The accident happened about 11:12 p.m.

"According to witnesses, the Toyota Camry failed to stop for the red traffic signal," Oxnard police said in a written statement.

Police identified the motorcyclist as Francisco Ayala. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

His 19-year-old daughter, who was a passenger, was taken to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

The statement said the driver of the Camry, identified as Sintya Nolazco, was uninjured.

Police said that it wasn't known whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash. The investigation was ongoing.
