$50K Reward To Be Announced In Fatal Boyle Heights Hit-And-Run

BOYLE HEIGHTS (CBSLA.com) — Authorities say a reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the hit-and-run driver responsible for killing a pedestrian back in February.

The reward of $50,000 stems from a Feb. 3, accident and is expected to be announced at a 9 a.m. news conference on Tuesday, Los Angeles police said in a department statement.

According to authorities, it was then that Edward Nix was struck by a vehicle while crossing Olympic Boulevard in Boyle Heights.

The 54-year-old man was transported to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center for treatment of severe head injuries. He later died.

The suspect vehicle was described as a red, older-model Honda van, authorities said. No suspect description was provided.
