5,000-Gallon Sewage Spill Shuts Down A Mile Of San Clemente Beaches

SAN CLEMENTE (CBSLA.com) — A mile-long stretch of water in San Clemente was closed to swimming, surfing and diving Monday because of a sewage spill, Orange County Health Care Agency officials said.

From Mariposa to Ladera, about a ½ mile upcoast and downcoast of San Clemente Pier, officials say people should avoid the waters until further notice.

The 5,000-gallon sewage spill overflowed into the ocean at the base of the pier, according to the Orange County Register.
