$500 Reward For Stolen Classic Car That Appeared In Movie

SILVER LAKE (CBSLA.com) — A Silver Lake man is offering a $500 reward for information leading to his stolen classic car that appeared in the movie "The Pursuit of Happyness," starring Will Smith.

Goran Pavicevic said he woke up one morning last week and realized his beloved 1965 Ford Mustang was gone from where he parked outside his home on Kodak Drive.

"I'm devastated. I found little pieces of broken glass. They took it actually for a week," he said.

Even before Pavicevic started making movies, the Mustang was his dream car - the car he once saw in a showroom as a young boy in Serbia. "I think it just made me think of the good old 60's when the cars were made in America, and they were the best in the world," he said.

When he finally bought one 18 years ago, it was a fixer-upper. But he put a lot of work into it to make the car look the way he wanted.

The cinematographer said whatever may have happened to his car, he just wishes it is still in one piece.

"If it means to them more than it means to me, I'll be fine," he said. He just doesn't want the thief to sell the parts.

Pavicevic is offering $500 for information that will lead him to his ride. He had sent flyers to auto shops and shipping companies in hopes of finding his stolen vehicle.
