5 Injured In Pomona Park Shooting

POMONA (CBSLA.com) — Five victims remained hospitalized Sunday for treatment of injuries sustained in a drive-by shooting yesterday evening.

According to the Pomona Police Department, officers received reports of gunshots fired around 7:55 p.m. Saturday at Palomares Park located in the 400 block of East Arrow Highway.

The victims transported themselves to the Pomona Valley Medical Center, where they received treatment for single gunshot wounds.

Police said it appeared that the victims were all at the park when an unknown suspect fired out of a nearby vehicle.

The suspect vehicle left the area before police arrived and has not yet been located.

Officers believe the motive for the shooting may be gang related. No description of the suspect has been provided.

All of the victims are listed in stable condition at this time, officials said.
